I had the pleasure of photographing good friends, Jaclyn and Eric Wood-Salomon’s beautiful baby girl, McKenna. McKenna was just 16 days old and still adapting to what I am sure is a strange and unfamiliar world to her. She is fortunate though to have such amazing, loving parents that will care for, support, guide, and comfort her as she starts her journey. Not only does she have wonderful parents, but she has loving families and grandparents. McKenna is surrounded by so much love, and I could not think of a better way to enter this world.
One word can sum up how I wanted to approach this shoot, natural. I wanted to come in, spend the afternoon with no time frame and just let McKenna do her thing under natural light. I love shooting with natural light, and finding ways to play with light as opposed to setting her up in an easy bake oven of studio lights. This shoot was natural and McKenna was definitely comfortable, free from the confines of the diaper (look closely at Eric’s arm on one of the photos), and she also really enjoyed hearing the camera shutter go off, it was almost relaxing for her which she needed after lifting those 2lb. dumb bells in her new Baby Armour. It was a great afternoon and I look forward to you seeing the rest of the photos.
Congratulations Jaclyn and Eric!!!
